What Anthropic’s enterprise run and the Salesforce partnership actually mean for sales, marketing, and RevOps teams.
Claude is Anthropic's consumer-facing app sitting on top of a much larger AI platform, roughly what Codex is to OpenAI. Except the growth curve of Claude has been markedly different.
By the numbers:
Then on August 26, Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce. Next week at Dreamforce, Dario Amodei takes the keynote stage alongside Marc Benioff.
ChatGPT still owns the larger consumer footprint, and it is not close. But across the enterprise and developer landscape, Claude has systematically overtaken OpenAI. Much of that is due to Claude Code.
For sales, marketing, and revenue operations leaders driving growth, what does this all mean? Here is our read.
Contact Everpeak for a free consultation on how AI can be used by your team.
Salesforce has spent the last year talking about headless software. Strip away the marketing and the argument is this: the value of any CRM becomes the data, not the interface.
If the data is the asset, then access will increasingly come from somewhere other than Salesforce's own UI. It will come from places like Claude, as well as OpenAI, Gemini, Copilot, and other tools.
We believe Claudeforce is less about Salesforce building a product to enable this and more about Salesforce staying in front of the narrative. If your sales reps and larger team are going to work out of Claude anyway, it is better to be the CRM that built the integration than the one that came late.
HubSpot is building its own AI. It will be good, but probably not better than Claude.
That is the real threat: if teams settle on one central interface to reach every tool in the stack, the CRM loses its privileged position as the hub of revenue operations. The CRM becomes a very good system of record that something else queries.
This is the part that is available to you today, not in a future roadmap.
An enterprise Claude account delivers a surprising amount of functionality out of the box. At a base level, reps and marketers can start using it to write emails and schedule responses in the normal course of business, with no workflow design required.
With the proper workflows, organizations can extend that to outbound.
Everpeak never recommends running outbound from your primary domain. But when mirrored accounts are stood up for each rep and the IPs are properly warmed, the effect is like having a secondary Google or Outlook account.
Connect it to Clay or Apollo, and it is an extremely effective stack for:
It also collapses the tooling spend for teams currently paying three vendors (Salesloft, Outreach, etc.) to do the job.
The constraint here has never been the model. It is deliverability discipline and list quality. Claude makes the research and the drafting trivial; it does not make a cold domain safe to send from.
No one knows exactly what "Claudeforce" means yet. What we do know from the announcement:
Read that sequence again.
Salesforce has a frenetic history when it comes to AI: Einstein, then Agentforce, and now Claudeforce. We believe this is the first step toward Salesforce conceding the model layer: essentially, "you win, our AI is not going to be yours."
You will never hear Marc Benioff say it that way. Instead, Agentforce fades into the background much like Einstein did, or survives as a narrow, well-defined use case such as a support chatbot.
The reasoning happens in Claude. The branding stays Salesforce.
The platform question will resolve itself over the next few quarters. The data and process work underneath it is what determines whether any of it pays off, and that work looks the same as it did before Claudeforce.
